On Wednesday July 31, behavioral health organization, Pacific Counseling Group Maui held a private event in partnership with Maui United Way, Maui Behavioral Health Resources and the Department of Education called “Malama Your Kumu”. This event is dedicated to honoring and supporting the teachers of Kamehameha III Elementary, Princess Nahienaena Elementary, Lahaina Intermediate, and Lahainaluna High Schools as they gear up for the new school year. KaiAloha Supply is proud to contribute 400 Heart of Maui reusable canvas bags for all attendees. In addition, our booney hats, duffle bags, backpacks, and lunch bags were also a big part of their giveaways.

“We wanted to support Maui based companies like KaiAloha Supply, who happens to be one of our bigger donors. They love to take care of our community. They had two shops on Front Street so it was a really big loss for them. Any time I ask them to give, they’ve always shown up," program director Tina Boteilho said.

The event took place at the Lahaina Intermediate School's auditorium and a few of the classrooms were used as “stations”. Over 400 staff members had the opportunity to experience art/craft/lei making, chiropractic adjustments, massages, acupuncture, counseling and other support services.

“I am so grateful for your donation to the event. We got over $80,000 in donations for staff from all four schools in Lahaina. Many staff found healing and peace in the connections and reconnections made that day. We are already in the planning process for more events to continue helping to heal those affected by the devastating Maui wildfires. Mahalo again for your generous donation.” -Boteilho
