A Milestone for Maui’s Marine Life
For over two decades, Maui has served as the heart of humpback whale research, and this February marked a truly historic milestone. From February 19th to the 23rd, our community gathered for the 20th Anniversary of Whale Tales, a signature event hosted by the incredible team at Whale Trust.
At KaiAloha Supply, we believe that understanding our oceans is the first step toward protecting them. That’s why we were so stoked to jump on board this year and support the researchers, scientists, and enthusiasts who dedicate their lives to these majestic ocean giants.
Gearing Up the Crew

An event of this scale, bringing together global experts and the local community, truly takes a village. To ensure the crew was ready for the voyage, we worked closely with Caitlin, Whale Trust's Communication and Education Manager, to develop exclusive designs specifically for the occasion.
We were stoked to bring that vision to life by donating 100 custom volunteer shirts and 100 custom canvas bags to the dedicated team making it all happen. It was important to us that the people doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes were repping the spirit of aloha while sharing the latest in marine science.

A Deep Dive into Conservation

Whale Tales is more than just a presentation, it’s a deep dive into the world of the koholā (humpback whales). For twenty years, this event has provided a platform for world-renowned photographers and scientists to share their findings, fostering a deeper connection between humans and the marine environment (Photo courtesy of Caitlin Carroll).
As a brand born on Maui, we are committed to supporting the organizations that keep our island’s ecological heritage alive. Supporting Whale Trust allows us to play a small part in a much larger story: the continued recovery and protection of the humpback whales that grace our waters every winter.
Join the Voyage

The 20th Anniversary may have come to a close, but the work continues year-round. We encourage you to visit whaletales.org to learn more about the research being done right here in our backyard and how you can support Whale Trust’s mission (Photo courtesy of Caitlin Carroll).
Mahalo to Whale Trust for twenty years of inspiration, and here’s to many more seasons of watching the koholā breach against the Maui horizon!
