Strengthening Our 'Ohana
At KaiAloha Supply, our mission has always extended far beyond retail. We are deeply grounded in our love for the ocean, caring for our island home, and giving back to the community that supports us every day. Protecting our coastlines and honoring our eco-mission will always be central to who we are, but loving our islands also means showing up for the four-legged fur friends of our community.
Twice a year, we pause operations to bring our leaders together for our biannual summits. These gatherings are our dedicated time to step away from the storefronts, realign with our core values, and recharge our collective energy. This season, our store managers, assistant store managers, and leadership crew traveled to Maui for two inspiring, high-energy days filled with leadership development, role plays, training, team games, and hands-on giveback (Photo Courtesy of Mariana Markouizos).
Leadership, Learning, and Connection
Bringing leaders across O‘ahu and Maui under one roof creates an unmistakable energy. Over the course of the two-day summit, our store managers, assistant store managers, and leadership team dove into interactive workshops designed to help us grow together.
Our crews worked through real-world scenarios, refined retail guest experiences, and swapped store-level insights to sharpen our everyday communication. We explored actionable strategies to support our store teams, build collaborative problem-solving skills, and reinforce a positive workplace culture. Hands-On Giveback: Crafting for Shelter Pups
Anyone who knows KaiAloha Supply knows how much we love dogs, especially through our beloved store mascot, Poppy, who brings endless joy to our community and reminds us daily of the unconditional love pets bring to our lives. That passion for animals made this summit's community partner a natural, heartfelt fit.
On the first day of the summit, our crew kicked things off by putting their creativity to work with a special service project directly benefiting Maui's rescue animals. Our team measured, cut, and hand-tied cozy fleece blankets to give shelter dogs a comforting, soft place to sleep while waiting for their forever homes. Everyone also decorated customized collars with bold "Adopt Me" lettering and bright island designs to help make shelter pups stand out during adoption events and community outings (Photo Courtesy of Mariana Markouizos).
Celebrating Dog Love with Maui Humane Society
On the second day, we were honored to welcome Ashley Stone-Mason, Marketing and Communications Manager at the Maui Humane Society, as our featured guest speaker. Ashley shared impactful stories about the shelter’s daily operations, emergency response efforts, and the vital community programs that keep pets safe, fed, and adopted into loving families.
Our crew proudly presented Ashley with the handmade blankets and custom collars crafted the day before, alongside a $1,000 monetary donation from KaiAloha Supply to support the shelter's ongoing rescue efforts, medical care, and supply needs (Photo Courtesy of Mariana Markouizos).
Moving Forward Together
From protecting our waters and beaches to caring for rescue animals, our commitment to mālama our island community guides everything we do.
