KaiAloha Supply Joins Oahu’s Biggest Coastline Cleanup
This past weekend, over 1,600 volunteers gathered around the Ala Wai Harbor with a single goal: keeping marine debris out of our ocean. Among the crowd of individuals hauling buckets and pulling trash out of the water was our own Oahu retail crew, ready to put in the work for our island home.
Hands-On at Ala Wai Harbor
Organized by Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii (SCH), the massive cleanup brought together 36 community partner organizations and more than 1,668 attendees. Our teams traded the retail store floor for the harbor shoreline, combing through the water and banks to clear out microplastics, natural debris, and discarded trash (Image courtesy of Talia Machado).
For our crew, the day was as much about community connection as it was about stewardship.

Small Actions, Massive Impact
By the end of the day, the numbers spoke for themselves: over 13,000 pounds of waste were successfully diverted from entering our fragile marine ecosystems. While hauling thousands of pounds of trash makes a huge dent, the event’s core takeaway is a daily reminder for all of us: any amount of trash picked up is one less piece of trash in our oceans or on our coastlines.
Continuing the Mission
