Our First Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup!
At KaiAloha Supply, our mission has always been to protect and respect the ocean we love. But as any islander knows, caring for the ocean starts long before you hit the sand. Whatever ends up on our roads eventually finds its way into our storm drains and, ultimately, our reefs.
That’s why we are so excited to announce that KaiAloha Supply has officially joined the HDOT Adopt-A-Highway program!
This past week, our team hit the pavement for our very first official cleanup. We’ve committed to caring for a beautiful stretch of the Honoapi'ilani Highway between mile markers 22 and 24. Armed with safety vests and a shared goal of Mālama i ka ʻĀina, we spent the morning clearing litter to ensure this coastal corridor stays pristine (Photo courtesy of Nalani Wilsey).
A Huge Mahalo to the Crew
A mission like this is only as strong as the people behind it. We want to give a massive shoutout to Marcus (Store Manager, Whalers Village) and the Whalers Village team for leading the charge on this inaugural cleanup, along with our amazing Maui team members from our other store locations— Nalani, Maile-Anna, Erica, Leshan, and Marx— who stepped up to help. Thank you all for showing up with high energy and true Aloha spirit. By committing to this stretch of highway, we aren't just picking up trash, we’re preventing pollutants from reaching our waters. For us, caring for the environment is about showing up, getting our hands dirty, and leading by example for our community.
