Second Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup
As any ocean lover knows, what happens on our roads heavily impacts our marine life. When trash builds up on our streets, wind and rain carry it straight into our storm drains, out onto our beaches, and directly onto our precious coral reefs.
To create a real, lasting impact, we formally entered into a two-year commitment with the Adopt-A-Highway program, pledging to conduct four major cleanups per year. This past weekend on June 20, our Maui teams laced up their sneakers, grabbed their trash grabbers, and hit the roadside to successfully complete our second cleanup of the year!
Led by the Lahaina Cannery Crew

This past cleanup was proudly spearheaded by our amazing Lahaina Cannery store crew. Showing true leadership and a deep commitment to mālama ʻāina (caring for the land), the Cannery team guided our Maui volunteers through a highly successful morning of cleaning up our designated stretch of highway (Image courtesy of Nalani Wilsey).
Equipped with bright safety vests and heavy-duty collection bags, the team combed the roadside to clear plastic bottles, wrappers, and micro-debris before the elements could wash them down to the shoreline.
Mobile Fuel & Good Vibes: The Portable Hydration Station
Of course, keeping the team's energy high under the Maui sun requires some serious operational strategy. Enter Marx, who was officially in charge of our mobile support station for the day!

Pushing our heavy-duty rolling cart along the pavement, Marx kept the crew fully fueled and highly motivated. Managing our portable hydration station and keeping the entertainment going, he made sure everyone stayed safe, hydrated, and smiling. Armed with a trash grabber in one hand, a shaka in the other, and a cooler full of cold drinks, Marx proved that taking care of our environment can feel less like work and more like a celebration (Image courtesy of Nalani Wilsey).
Two Down, Two to Go!

This successful weekend marks a huge milestone for our environmental initiatives. Having just wrapped up this second event, we are officially halfway through our cleanup goals for the year! Seeing our retail teams transition from welcoming guests in our stores to working hard on the pavement is a powerful reminder of what KaiAloha Supply stands for. We aren't just a clothing brand; we stand for ocean love, and we are a community dedicated to actively showing up and protecting it, mile by mile, over this two-year journey (Image courtesy of Nalani Wilsey).
Mahalo to Our Crew

A massive mahalo to our Lahaina Cannery team for leading the charge, to Marx for keeping the vibes and hydration flowing, and to every single team member and volunteer who sacrificed their weekend morning to make a difference. Because of your hard work, our highways are cleaner, our community is tighter, and our ocean is a little safer (Image courtesy of Nalani Wilsey).
We are incredibly proud of the momentum we’ve built so far, and we can’t wait to bring that same energy to our next two cleanups later this year. Keep an eye out for our upcoming volunteer opportunities, and until then, remember to always share the aloha and protect what you love!
