KaiAloha and Surfrider Foundation Oahu collect 93 pounds of trash
KaiAloha Supply is proud to support Surfrider Foundation Oahu, their first environmental nonprofit partner on Oahu. On August 10, representatives from KaiAloha Supply and Surfrider Foundation Oahu, along with the local community, gathered for a beach cleanup at Sand Island State Park in Waikiki.
“We cleaned 93 pounds of trash from the beach! It was a small but mighty cleanup with 30 people, and a huge success in our eyes. We definitely value KaiAloha Supply's partnership and support the most! Learning the pros and cons of each cleanup site is important for our metrics, and overall I'm glad we got people out there to protect our oceans, waves, and beaches,” treasurer at Surfrider Foundation Oahu, Kaitlyn Jacobs said.

KaiAloha Supply donated reusable canvas bags and promo hats for all of the attendees. In addition to the beach cleanup, they also contributed $750 towards their Ocean Friendly Garden. The garden in Kaka'ako helps retain water to prevent run off and pollution into the ocean. Sometimes, people can visit to harvest fruit there too!
For 40 years, the Surfrider Foundation has been dedicated to safeguarding the oceans through protection, cleanup efforts, and raising awareness. Their primary focuses include clean water, reducing plastic pollution, protecting marine environments, ensuring beach access, and addressing climate issues. KaiAloha Supply is proud to support these initiatives through their shared love for the ocean.
